Open Records Request

Twiggs County Public Schools is committed to transparency and providing access to public records in accordance with the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 through § 50-18-77).

Under the Georgia Open Records Act, public records are available for inspection and copying unless they are specifically exempt from disclosure under state law. If a public record is withheld in response to an Open Records Request, the district will identify the applicable exemption under Georgia law that prevents the record from being released.

All requests to inspect or obtain copies of public records must be submitted in writing to the Open Records Officer. Upon receipt of a written request, the district will provide responsive records, as permitted by law, within three (3) business days. If the requested records cannot be provided within that timeframe, the Open Records Officer will provide written notice explaining the reason for the delay and the expected timeline for fulfillment.
