Superintendent's Message

Superintendent Dr. Mack H. Bullard

Dr. Mack H. Bullard has amassed over 25 years in the Georgia public education system. He served as the Director of Strategic Talent Management for the Griffin-Spalding County School System. In this position, he led the development of the Quality Leaders Academy to develop aspiring leaders, principals and central office leaders. He led the district’s national recruitment plan, supervised the district’s teacher and leader evaluation system, facilitated targeted leadership development, and built effective partnerships with university and business partners to develop the capacity of all human capital. He conceived and developed the Interns as Teachers Internship Program that matched master teachers with high quality student interns who were placed in schools as teachers of record.  

He has served as an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership and Instruction Department of the University of West Georgia and Assistant Superintendent of School Administration in Macon, Ga. He also served as Director of Student Services in Clayton County, Principal and Assistant Principal in Clayton County Schools, and Special Education teacher in the DeKalb County School System.

He has accumulated numerous accolades throughout his career. Most recently his Interns as Teachers Program won the GASPA 2019 Platinum Award of Excellence, his work in leadership development and human resources won the GASPA 2016 Gold Award of Excellence for Strategic Partnerships, and the 2015 Platinum Award of Excellence for Recruitment and Retention Practices. In January 2019, Dr. Bullard was invited to present with the Georgia Department of Education at the National ESEA Conference on the topic “Leaders Coming Together ‘Growing Your Own’ Teachers in High Poverty/High Minority Schools”. He is a consultant for national organizations such as Scholastic Incorporated Integrated Learning Support System and he serves on the Board of Learning Forward Georgia, the leadership committee for Metro-Atlanta P-20 Collaborative and has a history of community involvement throughout his career in organizations such as the Rainbow House Incorporated and the Rotary Club. Dr. Bullard is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, American Association of School Personnel Administrators, Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, and the Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators.  

Dr. Bullard is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, American Association of School Personnel Administrators, Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, and the Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators. He is married and has two children.
